This decadent Imperial Porter has sweet, warming stone fruit undertones and hints of liquorice, leading to a dry, lasting finale. Inspired by an ancient Lacons recipe from 1840 to commemorate the world’s first ever postage stamp, The Penny Black.

Our heritage ales are inspired by ancient recipes in our archives with modern-day expressions. The ales are left to age gracefully for a bare minimum of 6 months to develop further character. As they are bottle conditioned we recommend chilling them for about 48 hours before serving and letting the ale settle before drinking. Pour gently and leave the sediment in the bottle.

Storage and Pouring

Our Heritage Range are bottle conditioned and aged for a bare minimum of 6 months. We recommend allowing the bottles to rest for around 24 hours and then pouring gently leaving the sediment behind. Serve between 10-12ºc and store in a cool, dark place.
